    Strategic Battery Hub
    Saemangeum has been designated as a National Advanced Strategic Industrial Special Zone for battery technology (one of four such zones in Korea). The region has attracted ₩9.3 trillion in investments from 23 companies, creating a comprehensive battery value chain from raw materials to recycling.

    Explosive Growth
    The number of battery-related companies in Jeonbuk province grew from just 7 in 2019 to 39 in 2023, while investment volume expanded nearly 52-fold (from ₩137 billion to ₩7 trillion) in that period. Global-leading firms in copper foil, electrolytes, recycling, and supercapacitors are now present in the region.

    Research Ecosystem
    23 specialized research and public institutions related to energy storage technologies are clustered in Jeonbuk, reinforcing its innovation infrastructure and creating a complete ecosystem encompassing materials, cells, reuse and recycling.
IBTF 2025 serves as an international platform to showcase Saemangeum's progress, share the latest industry knowledge and technological innovations, and connect the region with the global battery community. The conference aims to strengthen global networks and collaboration while solidifying Jeonbuk Saemangeum's role as a leading battery industry hub in Northeast Asia.
